Moneyting is a trading name used by Muhammad Rehman Qureshi, a sole trader in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. Contact support@moneyting.com for support or privacy@moneyting.com for privacy requests.
Local-first by design
Moneyting helps you record activities, budgets, bills, debts, savings, vault balances, salary assumptions, net worth and optional zakat reminders. The app does not use accounts, bank connections, advertising trackers or analytics. Your financial records are intended to remain on the device where you use the app.
On iOS and Android, Moneyting writes an AES-GCM-encrypted snapshot to private, non-cloud-backed app storage. The key is kept separately in Apple Keychain or Android Keystore, and a verified previous snapshot is retained as a recovery path. On the web, Moneyting uses the browser's on-device IndexedDB database with verified current and previous snapshots. These browser snapshots are not encrypted by Moneyting and are not a substitute for device security or full-disk encryption.
Information you enter
You may enter amounts, dates, categories, payment methods, bill and contract details, debt and repayment information, names or notes about people, goals, vaults, salary assumptions and zakat settings. You can also attach an image or PDF receipt to an activity. Receipt files are read locally, kept inside the local Moneyting snapshot, and are included in a JSON export only when you choose to export it. You choose what to enter or attach. Moneyting does not receive or access these records during normal use.
Backups, reminders and support
Export creates an unencrypted JSON file on your device. You control where it is stored and shared. Local reminder schedules are handled by the operating system; Moneyting does not use a remote push-notification server. If you contact support@moneyting.com, we process the message, contact details and diagnostic information you choose to include to respond, investigate faults, secure the service and handle legal claims. We rely on taking steps at your request or performing our agreement with you where applicable, our legitimate interests in providing and protecting Moneyting, and compliance with legal obligations.
Support email is handled through Zoho Mail, and the public site is hosted by Vercel. These providers may process support correspondence or ordinary website request and security metadata for us, including IP address, browser headers, requested URL and access time. They may use group companies or subprocessors in the United Kingdom, EEA, United States or other countries and contractual safeguards for restricted international transfers. Financial records stored only inside the app do not reach these providers unless you deliberately include them in a support message. The current website has no account, contact form, analytics tag, advertising pixel or marketing tracker.
Retention, deletion and rights
You can edit or delete local records, reset local data, clear browser storage, uninstall the app and delete exported files yourself. Moneyting cannot remotely access or erase records that never leave your device. Support correspondence is normally retained for up to 12 months after an issue closes, unless it is reasonably needed for a dispute or legal obligation.
Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you may have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability. The right to object applies where we rely on legitimate interests. You are not required to send support information, but we may be unable to investigate without enough detail. Moneyting does not make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
